This rare blue 2010 Camaro came in baselining around 370 rwhp, with just a cold air intake. Looking for an increase in power and to start turning heads with better sound – he asked us to install our Phoenix cam along with the appropriate supporting mods.
Wasting no time, we got down to business. Our Phoenix cam is a slightly larger version of our 545 cam, still offering great driveability. We added our Brian Tooley Deluxe Cam Install kit, along with a COMP Trunion Upgrade and a Melling 10296 oil pump as well. We used Kooks 1 7/8″ headers with cats, and the customer also opted for coating by Calico.
While we were in there, we also dressed up the engine bay with our Shorter Fuel Line, Hide That Evap! Kit and relocated heater hoses. These small changes make a big difference in appearance! We also added our Catch Can kit, which not only looks great but does a great job trapping any potential oil that might otherwise have been consumed.
Going back to the dyno, we were pleased to see the car lay down 470 rwhp & 423 ft/lbs of torque – through the stock catback! The sound was much improved, and the car felt a lot more responsive on the street, making gains as low as 2500rpm.
