We were excited to participate in the building of this 2008 TBSS. With higher mileage, its owner was looking to do a serious round of upgrades to refresh the chassis and powertrain. He started with a built 402ci from Golen Engines, also having Golen port and polish the cylinder heads. Knowing he was aiming to build a sleeper, we spec’d a mild custom cam, around 214/230. We added Stainless Works headers to help the engine exhale, along with our Spal Fan Kit to keep it cool. We also bolted on a Magnacharger TVS 2300 unit for some serious power addition!! To help the truck handle better, we also replaced stock/rusted suspension with DJM A-Arms, and new shocks/springs. Finally we rounded out the build with a Built RPM Level 10 transmission, to support all of the added power. It was quite a different truck when finished! Since it is AWD, we handled the tuning on the street. All in all it was a great set of modifications to revamp the truck.
