Unfortunately, this TBSS owner had suffered some chronically bad luck with his engine. His first LS2 succumbed to oil starvation, which the TBSS is famous for. He initially replaced it with an LS3 longblock with the GM hot cam, which yielded a meager 364rwhp. After that engine was hydrolocked, he shipped the truck to us to install another LS3 longblock, this time with our camshaft and adding a set of Kooks headers. This time, the engine received our Pickup Tube Relocation kit as well…making sure oil starvation would not be a factor in this instance!
We installed our Brian Tooley Deluxe Cam Install kit, along with a custom cam by Alvin. This was a medium sized cam with a bit of lope, but still very tame for daily driving. A Circle D stall was added for better performance as well, along with our Brake Duct Transmission cooler kit to knock some temperature off of the transmission fluid.
Back to the dyno it went…this time yielding a much more impressive 434 rwhp & 412 ft/lbs tq. Still retaining great driveability, this made for a great street driving package that should stay together for a very long time!
