The internet is flooded at the moment with knock off aftermarket cable throttle bodies made overseas. These throttle bodies fit poorly, have binding throttle body blades, and have choked IAC passages.
They also have problems returning to idle. They come to different throttle stops which drive idle learning crazy. The IAC passages are usually so choked up that they cannot deliver enough air to a cold engine and can’t stop enough air to lower the idle of a hot engine. It is simply not able to respond fast enough.
There are big name American companies selling these throttle bodies as their own, even though they are procured from an overseas supplier.
In general, for cable driven throttle bodies we recommend Nick William’s throttle bodies. Not only are they an American based company but the performance and drivability is the best out of any of the brands we have tested.
We do not recommend any throttle bodies found on Amazon or eBay.
