After seeing another one of our builds pop up on Corvette Forum, this customer got in touch with us to see what we could do for his 2009 Z06. Like a lot of other Z06 owners, he had the nagging feeling in the back of his mind that he should have the heads checked, so we decided to make good use of the time they were off the car. We sent off his heads to Advanced Induction, not just to have the valve guides and exhaust valves replaced – but also to add his fantastic 280cc porting and polishing package.
We also decided to add a cam to maximize the gains from the heads. Since the performance in the other Z06’s build turned out excellent, we decided to repeat those cam specs for this go-round as well. This cam is now dubbed our LS7 Road Race Cam. We knew that he wanted something very driveable that would last a long time, have a great sound, and also be very strong in the low and mid range. This cam delivers all that and then some! The customer supplied a set of 1 3/4″ LG Motorsports headers, and the car also had a Halltech Intake installed when it came in.
We did not baseline this car (customer declined due to heads), but the final numbers showed 557 rwhp & 510 ft/lbs! The car felt very impressive on the street. Even though a Z06 is an awesome ride out of the box, the heads and cam package made it feel very aggressive and strong. We received this email from the customer,

In terms of power and drive-ability it was just what I was looking for. The car has great pull all through the bottom end and is a monster up top.”
