This 1982 Chevrolet C10 Silverado came in with a very tired carbureted 305…in great need of some upgrades! Out with the old, and in with the new – a junkyard Gen IV 5.3L was installed in its place. We added our Stage 3 Truck Cam – link. In addition to the cam, we installed long tube headers and a custom 4″ intake. We pulled an old 6l80e out of the attic and set to work expanding the trans tunnel to fit it. Using the GMPP Harness kit, we decided to take some time to solve the issue of a 6l80e hookup – that controller kit expects you to use an aftermarket computer for the transmission. Wanting to streamline things, we came up with our own harness – link. This kit allows you to plug and play a 6l80e into your GMPP harness – using a GM controller with HP Tuners for seamless operation.
The ol’ gal was no slouch on the dyno either. With these mild mods, it still managed to push 383 rwhp & 369 ft/lbs through the auto! Now with the updated engine/fuel injection, no more feathering the gas on start up either. Just get in and go!
